The networking primer is an introduction to networking terms and technology in general and more specific to the components that are used in the private cloud coac and c1lab.
The best way to secure your environment is to make sure you never exchange data. The best way to avoid exchanging data, is to cut your data line.
Because this is not a practical advice, what do we need to focus on, when mitigating security risks? The first step is to build some knowledge and experience on the topic. Following best practices and broad accepted guidelines. Common sense is also a good rule of thumb.
This course will not turn you into a security professional, but it will help you on the road becomming a professional with a good sense of security.
The technology used in the Lab of CrescentOne is deployed as a private cloud and uses several components that need day to day management. Most of these components are Linux based.
This primer aims to provide you with some basic knowledge to get you started. Content is curated from several sources.
In todays server and networking roles it is close to unthinkable to setup and manage environments and solutions without knowledge and skills of scripting.
In this course we only touch some of the basics and try to motivate you to go a lot further making your own work a bit more pleasant and a lot more automated.
Install a local version of Node-RED
At CrescentOne we use the Node-RED low-code platform. Originally it was developed by IBM, but is completely opensource. Node-RED can be installed on Linux as well as Windows based systems. Node-RED runs on top of NodeJS.
Node.js is a cross-platform, open-source server environment that can run on Windows, Linux, Unix, macOS, and more. Node.js is a back-end JavaScript runtime environment, runs on the V8 JavaScript engine, and executes JavaScript code outside a web browser.
